OK, so today we slept in a little. It was nice. We decided to go down to the harbor and tour the air craft carrier USS Midway. I've toured a few of the military boats up in Seattle but never something this enormous. All the people working there are retired navy and know the answer to every question. The boys had a great time going up and down all the ladders between decks. We went up and down so many ladders today and combined with our walking at legoland and seaworld, we've burned some serious calories. I loved the flight deck and seeing all the airplanes and helicopters up top. The flight deck is 4 acres in size and 3 football fields long. We got to go all the way up to the bridge too. It was seriously an immense ship. "Awesome..." is what Bryce kept saying over and over and over...
After that we grabbed lunch and went out to see the Cabrillo National Monument out on Point Loma. On the way there, we came across the Fort Rosencrans National Cemetary which is a military cemetary out on the point. It was almost like Arlington to me. So beautiful and massively big with the headstones looking out to sea on both sides. We continuted on to Cabrillo...we went first to the tidepools which my kids loved...especially Bryce. Robb seriously had to keep a hold of Bryce's sweatshirt hood or he would have been gone climbing any rock he could find. They found little hermit crabs which they loved. Then we went to see the Point Loma lighthouse. The boys completed a Jr. Ranger program during our little hike and got their own little badges. Another great day...tons of walking and we are exhausted. Robb and I are flopped down on the beds watching the Jazz game while the boys are running around the room having Shamu fights with their whales...how come they don't get tired?

Chris and I were in San Diego last May without children. It was a beautiful city but much cooler than we planned on. I mean, it's California for Pete's sake. It is supposed to be warm!
