St. Louis Day 6

Well, today was the arch day. Robb really wanted to go so we waited for him. Scott & Lori had already taken their family so it was just us, the kids, and Cheryl came too. It was a super hot day...which we've learned isn't shocking...but most of the time we were in the AC inside. We bought our tickets ahead of time so thankfully didn't have to stand in big lines (and there were BIG lines). I loved learning the history behind all of it and seeing the FREAKY pics from when they were building it in the 60's and standing right on the top laying the keystone and none of them were strapped on to ANYTHING. I would have died...anyway, you go up in these little pods that barely fit 5 people. It's definitely not for the claustrophobic. All the kids were really good. It's a tiny tight spot up at the top too with just a few windows to look out and you're crammed in with tons of other people. But, the kids loved getting up and looking out the windows.

While we stood in line to go through security, I snapped this pic of Zack and Robb walking over to the other side of the arch. You can tell how big it is.

Afterwards we booked it home because we had babysitters during the afternoon so we could go to the temple. It's beautiful! Very big and just like the temple in the Dominican where we had all been back in January. It was nice to get a peaceful break from the crazy fun and madness of playing all week with 7 kids.

We love hanging with Lor and Scott. We're like 4 peas in a pod. :) And it was so fun to see Kay and Cheryl as mission presidents. They were on phones constantly with missionaries but they just kept being great tour guides. They are total rock stars here. Everyone just loves them and they've only been here 6 months. I'm so glad we got to come.

We're going out for ice cream tonite for our last hurrah and then it's back home for 13 hours again tomorrow!
