T-Ball...Finally!

We have waited a long time to actually sit and watch a T-Ball game. If you remember, Zack got smacked in the head with the ball at his first practice and after that he refused to even go out on the field with his team and we ended up dropping out. He hasn't had any interest ever since.

Bryce did it last year but he was still too little to do games so they just did practices. This year, he was so excited to get to be on a "real" team and play games. Well, due to our crazy tornado weather lately, they've canceled 3 practices and the first game which was last week. So this week was his first real game. He was SO excited. When they got there the coach put the black marks on his cheeks and he loved that! They basically all get a turn to hit the ball and run the bases (unless they get 3 outs first which is rare) and the fielders almost always just throw it to first base. He hit the ball awesome everytime he was up. It took him much prompting from coaches (and screaming from his mom) till he realized he was supposed to run on every ground ball but he finally got it.

They take turns playing all the positions so when it was time for them to take the field for the first time, the coach started yelling out positions and said, "Bryce! Catcher!" We all just kind of started laughing because he is so tiny and probably wouldn't even be able to walk with the gear on but Robb hurried and helped him put it on. Watching him walk in it was hilarious. Anyway, after about 5 or 6 batters, he started yelling at me. I was sure he had to go to the bathroom. But he just wanted to know what he was supposed to do. Since they don't catch pitches from a pitcher and every fielder throws it to 1st, the catchers just basically have to stand there in their gear and do nothing. He was a good sport though and had so much fun!

Ha ha...pants weren't actually part of the uniform. Those were Zack's pants from 3 years ago.
